Mercury Research and Consulting was founded in 2006 by Jed Christiansen to meet the rising need for prediction market services. We strive to be the pre-eminent research and consulting firm in the growing field of prediction markets.
About Jed Christiansen
The catalyst of Mercury Research and Consulting was Jed's graduate thesis project at the London School of Economics. His paper demonstrated how the academic theory can work even in groups of dramatically small size. Jed has been a consultant in the City of London for major international banks and telecommunications companies since 2005.
Jed earned his BSE in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan in the United States. He then spent six years in the US Navy as a nuclear submarine officer and on the Plans & Policy staff for the Navy Headquarters in Europe. Most of his spare time is spent rowing on and near the river Thames in London.
About our namesake
The company's namesake is the Roman god of commerce, trading and profit: Mercury. This name represents our goal of using trading within a company to improve it's performance and profitability.
